It may hurt the enhancement shaman that got this spell because they may not have 10 spell crit rating. Most paths, especially elemental ones, have battlefield evocations that do direct damage: some. The most iconic Evocation spells are those that do damage directly. If you want to cast spells that are traditionally associated with magic, like fireballs and lightning bolts, this is the school for you. Since many elem shaman, have much higher crit rating than 10 it means that it will proc more. Evocation Projects arcane power into the physical world. But for everyone else, the proc is great. Instead of a 10 clearcasting chance, it works off spell crits.

If you really must root & shoot, then get some ornate greaves and have mana free root. I don't know why you'd want to do it, as it's very slow killing and you'd make far better exp in a group. When I'm in a group, the main purpose of my spell nuke is simply to break a root because it cuts my damage in half. If you are using your bow with AM3 then you know this. The only downside, as you pointed out, is the possibility of breaking root.
I really have no idea what you are talking about when you say that a proc makes you do less damage. Then, depending on which bow and augments you have, you can be doing 1-3 nukes in addition to your bow damage. You're hitting for 300-500 damage per hit. The bolts are projectiles, so you can link projectile-type support gems like LMP if you want, but there are probably more efficient supports than that. Increasing physical damage, lightning damage, and elemental damage will all buff LS. If the bow procs, you are doing LESS damage? What are you talking about? Are you under the impression that a proc cancels out the arrow damage? Lightning Strike is not a spell, so Increased Spell Damage will have no effect. If the bow would proc I would be doing much less damage. My average shots range between 300-500dmg. procs more often, rarely resisted, and rarely an agro getting spell and break it out when tanking in elemental exp groups, ldons and such but as far as meleeing in raids. In Gates zones (KT,Qvic,Uqua,Inktuta,Tvexu) the stun component hits nothing, and the resist gets you agro from mobs you would rather NOT get agro from.ĪLL in all its ok to have for those who like to fill there spell books and stuff. Resisted MUCH more often than Cry of Thunder. If you are relying for this spell to actually interupt a spell WHEN you need it interupted. For those of us that do tank on regular basis, its helpful when monks are wielding SoT's. It is just like Cry of Thunder as far as the proc (no it doesn't work on your bow) with the exception of the interupt stun component.Įven when stun is resisted its a good agro builder. I have it and have had it for several weeks.
